About Jennifer Claytor, M.D.
Dr. Jennifer Claytor specializes in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, and in the care of patients facing immune-mediated complications of cancer therapy, including GI graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and immune checkpoint inhibitor enterocolitis. She is an assistant professor of medicine and member of the Jill Roberts Center for IBD at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Dr. Claytor graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Literature and received an M.S. in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University. She attended medical school at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she was elected to the alpha omega alpha (AOA) medical honor society and completed a specialization in science and technology studies. She completed internal medicine residency training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in the PRIME clinical research track. She then attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital for gastroenterology fellowship, focused subspecialty training in inflammatory bowel disease, and a T32 research fellowship focused on IBD and GI GVHD under the mentorship of Jean-Frédéric Colombel. She has served on the editorial boards of JAMA-IM and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology as an editorial fellow.
She is certified in intestinal ultrasound and an active member of IBUS (International Bowel Ultrasound Group) and IUSCAN (Intestinal Ultrasound Group of the United States and Canada). Dr. Claytor is a co-investigator in multiple clinical trials exploring novel advanced therapeutics in IBD and is the principal investigator on multiple protocols involving biomarkers common to IBD and GVHD, intestinal ultrasound, and endoscopic outcomes related to GI GVHD. She sees patients at the Jill Roberts Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
